You are uniquely made with an equally unique impact to make. We’re convinced that a “nonserving Christian” is a contradictory term. So we create lots of opportunities to serve because we want everyone to have the opportunity to both contribute and grow.
Signing up for a serving team is one of the best ways to get plugged in at Mt Vernon. The main avenue for serving is test driving with one of our Sunday morning ministry teams. Whether it’s creating a great first impression with our Guest Services Team, leveraging your creativity with our Production Team or Worship Team, or building a dynamic experience for children or students with those ministry teams, we’ll help you find the perfect team so you can start serving in your sweet spot.
If you’re ready to sign up for a team and see what God can do through you OR attend our Next Steps class to learn more about these opportunities, e-mail us at [email protected] and let us know.
We truly believe that God can use us to change the world by serving and loving one person at a time. We want to show Jesus’s love to people when they least expect it and perhaps feel that they least deserve it. We want our community to be better because we’re here, and that’s why we’re doing all that we can to impact our community. Our goal is for everyone in our community to not simply hear about Jesus, but to have a personal experience with His love.
Check out our Event Calendar for upcoming opportunities to show God’s love in practical ways with no strings attached.
Mt Vernon Church has been instrumental in constructing a school, church, clinic and other improvements in the Batey Central slum area in the Dominican Republic. Along with people from other churches, we sponsor more than 130 children by providing education, Bible study, one meal per day, medical/dental care, and a positive Christian environment. Partnering with American and local missionaries, we have witnessed a total transformation of the community and renewed hope for the children and adults in this community of Haitian immigrants.
