Feel free to dress casually and comfortably. From the moment you pull into the parking lot, our greeters will make sure you feel right at home. Join us a few minutes before the service (which lasts about an hour) for free coffee in our Welcome Center. In our worship experience, our praise band leads in a time of musical praise and worship. You may even recognize some of the songs from the radio. Then you’ll experience relevant teaching as we unpack timeless biblical truths in creative ways. We focus on real-life issues and invite people to take their next step toward God, whatever that might be from wherever they are.
At Mt Vernon Church, we try to create an environment where it’s okay to not be okay. It’s a place where you can be accepted just as you are, experience God’s unconditional love and radical grace, and heal from your past hurts. Our goal is for everyone in our community to not simply hear about Jesus, but to have a personal experience with His love.

We’re different with a purpose. Here’s a little about what makes us “us”.
Coming to one of our worship services is less like attending a funeral service and more like a family reunion BBQ. Come as you are!
We honor the past, but live in the present. We strive to teach timeless truths in creative ways that connect to real-life issues. We will always challenge you to take the next step in your relationship with Jesus. This same relevant teaching takes place at every age level at Mt Vernon Church.
In everything we do, we want to build and strengthen the family. We pour everything we’ve got into the next generation. From babies to elementary kids to teens, we will do everything we can to encourage and strengthen your family. If you’ve got a family, this is the place for you!
Life is messy. We don’t try to pretend otherwise. You don’t have to clean up first before you come inside. Bring your baggage. You’ll find us waiting with arms wide open ready to welcome you, mess and all.
Our goal is to get kids excited about Jesus and to get families talking about Jesus together throughout the week. Every Sunday at 9:00 & 10:30, we help kids learn about Jesus in the way they best understand, and our goal is to make it the best hour of their week!
We are devoted to developing a generation of students who are connected in a relationship with Jesus and thriving within the local church. From weekly gatherings to small groups, we’re creating irresistible environments and events where students can connect both with each other and with Jesus, so their hearts can be transformed by what He wants to do in their lives.
LifeGroups (typically 8-16 people) meet in convenient locations throughout our community so people can grow in their faith, have fun, and meet some great new friends. If you’re serious about moving forward in your spiritual growth, then it is absolutely vital that you connect with a group of people who both will accept you for who you are AND encourage you to become all that God intends for you to be.
We have safe, age-appropriate environments for children up through 5th grade. Discovery Zone (DZ), is a safe, loving, and fun-filled preschool ministry for infants through 4-year-olds. KidZone (KZ) is our exciting, fully produced experience for all Kindergarten through 3rd grade kids with interactive praise and creative sets, Bible stories that come to life, engaging media, and hands-on small group activities. Zone45 (Z45) is our 4th and 5th grade ministry where our older elementary-age kids can learn about the love of Jesus in their own space.
Our Sunday morning experience lasts about 65 minutes. We start by singing two to three songs, then you’ll hear from a member of our teaching team. After the teaching time, we wrap up with a time of prayer, an opportunity to give tithes & offerings, and one final song.
Most people dress casually, but you are welcome to wear whatever makes you comfortable. If you’re excited about wearing your new dress or breaking out that tuxedo T-shirt, then do it! We promise you won’t be the only one.
Fill in the blank with whatever fear you have about not being accepted or feeling like an outsider: divorced, single parent, broke, an addict, a skeptic, etc. Everyone is welcome at Mt Vernon. So come as you are, and we’ll see you this Sunday!
